the second time my wife left me

hieroglyphs spew out of your mouth
my taillights were broken
yet you say i am the one that gave you mixed signals

the color of your eyes were green
lips red as merlot
you never quite liked mustard

a stop sign with the words go
a feathered pen screamed don’t let the ink flow
as you scribbled on the divorce papyrus and let the world know
