fill the wound

lacerations
4 chambers deep
the kind that can be healed over
but never really go away

slash and burn of a rain forest
in the summer
months of rain followed
flowers bloomed the following May

have been broken many times
smoothed over
a dancing clay
molded by the hands
of a sculptor
who never could see herself say

i’ve healed over
the internal bleeding has ceased
now that it’s over
i can focus on sculpting me
